Martina Cucchiara is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the Cellular and Molecular Oncology Laboratory, headed by Prof. Giorgio Stassi, in December 2024. She earned her PhD in Experimental and Translational Medicine from the University of Insubria, presenting a project on “The TGF-b R1 inhibitor Galunisertib re-shapes the PDAC-TME by limiting decidual-like Natural Killer cells polarization”. 

Over the years, since her Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology, she has gained a solid background in in the investigation of how alterations of the immune system (mostly innate immune cells, such as NK cells, monocytes/macrophages, neutrophils) can contribute to the insurgence and progression of cardiovascular diseases and solid cancers.
