Dr. Rosario Nicola Brancaccio joined the Cellular and Molecular Oncology
Laboratory headed by Prof. Giorgio Stassi in January 2025. He previously
completed a postdoctoral fellowship at TIGEM in Pozzuoli. He earned his
Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Université Claude Bernard –
Lyon 1 in 2020, with a thesis focusing on the identification and
characterization of novel HPV types.
He specialized in Clinical
Pathology and Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Palermo,
conducting his research at the IARC in Lyon, and developing
next-generation sequencing methods for papillomavirus isolation. His
research combines strong wet-lab skills with expertise in ‘omics data
analysis, including genomics, transcriptomics, and methylation data.
His
postdoctoral experience includes positions at the International Agency
for Research on Cancer (IARC), the Stem Cells-GIGA Research Center in
Belgium, and the University of Salerno.
